Biophysics of large macromolecular assemblies : experiments and simulations

from October 14, 2013 to October 15, 2013

The objective of the Workshop Defis is to provide a forum for researchers working in different biophysical fields and in molecular simulation in order to promote close interactions and new advances in this research area.

Large macromolecular assemblies play an important role in biology. The study of their structure, stability and dynamic behavior remains very challenging and although biophysical techniques play a major role in investigating their properties they are insufficient to provide a complete understanding.

On the other hand simulations offer a convenient and useful approach for obtaining structural and dynamic properties of large macromolecules at an atomic level, but need to be conducted in close relationship with experiments because of the inherent uncertainties in this field.
